Grape.

I am not the biggest fan of Gwyneth Paltrow, I think she is a so-so actress and slightly pretentious. She has a crazy diet plan that I think borders on an eating disorder, but I will give credit where it is due... she looks great! A couple of nights ago she was at the opening of Tracy Anderson's new gym in LA and looked very fit. I also like her grape dress!

Style Watch: Kim Kardashian.

I'll admit it, I am a Kardashian fan! I recently started watching Keeping Up With the Kardashians a few seasons ago. I am really annoyed and upset with all the Kim Kardashian bashing over the weight gain she's experienced since becoming pregnant. Kim looks great as a pregnant lady and is darn fashionable. I am impressed and wish more women had the ability to look this good! I wanted to post some pictures of her, because she looks GREAT and I'd like to celebrate her as a pregnant lady!

Beyonce for H&M.

Great news all! One of my personal style icons, Beyonce, has partnered with H&M! Beyonce apparently gave "personal input on the pieces seen in the campaign". Beyonce's campaign will be both print and billboard images and will serve to promote her upcoming "Mrs. Carter" world tour.

Beyonce said, "I've always liked H&M's focus on fun affordable fashion. I really loved the concept we collaborated on to explore the different emotions of women represented by the four elements - fire, water, earth and wind. It was a beautiful shoot on a tropical island. It felt more like making a video than a commercial."

The H&M's creative director, Donald Schneider, is quoted as saying "It was amazing to watch her on the shoot make it all look effortless - a quality that makes her such an icon for women around the world. The campaign is the essence of Beyoncé, and also the essence of H&M this summer."

I am looking forward to seeing Beyonce's campaign and I can't wait to see if there are any unique pieces influenced by her! In the mean time, here is a taste.

Paris Fashion Week: Stella McCartney

Although I don't own anything by Stella McCartney, I find her designs inspiring and truly elegant. I'd like to post a few items from her 2013 Fall Paris Runway Show. Take a look and tell me what your favourite pieces are!!

Oz the Great and Powerful.

The last few times I've gone to the theatre I've seen the trailer for Oz the Great and Powerful. The film looks amazing to say the least. Like the Wizard of Oz, the film starts in black and white and changes to colour when Oz gets to the "enchanted land". The film features a strong cast: James Franco, Michelle Williams, Mila Kunis and Rachel Weisz. I am particularly looking forward to seeing Mila Kunis play the wicked witch!  The movie synopsis on IMDB says:

"A small-time magician with dubious ethics is hurled off to an enchanting land, where he encounters three witches, as well as the opportunity to transform himself into a great wizard -- and an even greater man."

I am planning to go see Oz the Great and Powerful next week and will write a review shortly after. I hope that you all get a chance to see the film too!!

Also... the world premieres of Oz have been happening around the world and I'd like to share my favourite looks of the main cast!!

2013 Academy Awards Red Carpet

Every year I eagerly wait until the end of the awards season for the Academy Awards. I love the outfits on the red carpet and I look forward to see who will be awarded for their great performances.

This year, the red carpet was chalk full of celebrities and the Oscars went to deserving actresses and actors. In particular, I appreciated that Jennifer Lawrence won Best Actress for her role in Silver Linings Playbook; no one was more deserving. I was disappointed that Sally Fields lost to Anne Hathaway because her performance in Lincoln was breathtaking. However, from what I have heard Anne's performance was stunning and she deserved the award. Best picture went to Argo, I was surprised and somewhat dismayed that it didn't go to Lincoln or Zero Dark Thirty. All in all, it was a good broadcast and I am looking forward to tuning in next year!

Best Dressed!

Catherine Zeta Jones.

Amy Adams.

Jennifer Hudson.

Style Watch: Brit Awards 2013

I have been quite busy this week, but I'd to do a catch-up post of the 2013 Brit Awards red carpet. I am pleased to say that some of my favourite celebs were dressed to the nines and even won a few awards.

Style Watch: Beyonce

In this week's style watch edition I'd like to highlight Beyonce. After having a baby last year, Beyonce is making her come back. And come back it is; singing the national anthem at Obama's inauguration, performing at the Superbowl half time show, the cover of Vogue, a 2013 world tour and release of her HBO documentary "Life Is But a Dream". Clearly Beyonce is a busy lady and to celebrate her accomplishments I am re-posting her latest photos in Vogue and the Mrs. Carter world tour promo.

New York Fashion Week: Victoria Beckham for Fall

I have profiled Victoria Beckham before as a style icon and today, I'd like to showcase some of her fall 2013 designs. Victoria has stated that this collection is "more affordable", but still meant for women with expensive tastes. She also said that she focused on fabrics and texture... which is evidence with her use of wool. The collection features mostly solid colours and colourblocking. I think that these outfits are a tad conservative in a very vibrant design period, but they are classic.

New York Fashion Week: Tommy Hilfiger for Fall

I don't know about you, but it seems like there is always a fashion week going on somewhere in the world. Paris Fashion Week was just a few weeks ago, and now we have New York Fashion Week! I am pleased that many of my favourite brands are continuing their move into bolder looks and prints.

I am a recent convert to Tommy Hilfiger. Before going into a flagship store in the United States, I limited my preppy look to Vineyard Vines or Brooks Brothers. I am pleased with the quality and wear-ability of the Tommy clothing that I have bought recently, and will be looking forward to picking up more the next time I am in the United States.

In the mean time.... here is a peak at their 2013 Fall Collection!
